Fireflies at Nelson Dewey
We drove to southwest Wisconsin to camp at Nelson Dewey State Park. Arthur stayed at Rachelle’s and we Erin and I got to go by ourselves. When we got there, we set up camp and went to watch the sun set over the Mississippi River while drinking some beers. When the sun was down, we walked back, but took a path along the ravine and the fireflies were out enforce. The lit up our path in the almost pitch dark and were glowing all around us as we walked back. We made dinner; beans potatoes and sausage. The next day we drove up to The Bear Burial Mounds in Iowa and walked around there. Then we went to Prairie du Chien and had lunch there. We went to Wyalusing State Park and went for a long hike. We wanted a repeat of the previous night, so we got some groceries for dinner, and went back to camp and then to our spot on the overlook. We went home earlier though to make dinner of pork chops with pineapple. On Sunday we drove home but took the side roads through towns.
