The Wolf Moon
Tonight is the full Wolf Moon. I started a new full time job on the 6th at Door County Land Trust in Sturgeon Bay as their Communications Manager. I like it so far.
For the New Year we went to Eric and Rachelles and they cooked out steak and crab legs. We watched some television. I went to be before midnight. On the 4th was the Krumpos Christmas at Aunt Kim and Uncle Bob’s house. I enjoy spending time with my family. It was nice to see everyone and eat a lot of food. This past weekend, Erin and I went to stay in Ephraim for 2 nights. We went to Chives that night after a couple beers at Door County Brewing Company. We went back to DCBC because Gary Weber was there playing guitar and we got to talk to Dan who was also playing music. He talked to us quite a bit after and told some interesting stories about himself. On Saturday we had a delicious scone and coffee at Isley Coffee Roaster. We then went for a hike at Newport SP. It had some lake effect snow which made the day lovely. We went for lunch at Bayside Tavern in Fish Creek. Went for another hike at Three Springs Nature Preserve. We went back to the tap room to listen to Dan play guitar again.
The other day, Arthur was helping me put on my belt and trying to figure out how it works. He wants to start wearing a belt. I love these times with my son. When we were getting ready for school, he said he wanted to wear my really long scarf. I couldn’t let him because it would wrap around his entire body.
I don’t get to see him as much now that I started my new job. I don’t get to pick him up from school anymore and get to just see him a couple hours at night. I guess I feel lucky that I got to both bring him and pick him up from school for 4 months and it was wonderful. I loved that when he got out the door he ran up to me with one of his running poses where he bent over forward and put his arms straight back carrying that relatively huge backpack on him, and then jump on me and give me a big hug. September and October were truly wonderful months. Now it is cold and dark and I don’t have as much time with Arthur.
My favorite book to read to him right now is “The Stickler”. I tell him that I think he is the Stickler and he denies it but he says that they still don’t let him bring the sticks he finds into the school.
Arthur read his first book. He just turned 5 and he can read a kindergarten book.
