Lavender Fields on Washington Island

Don Krumpos · Diary

A lot has happened in the last month. It is summer and Erin is on her summer vacation so we are trying to pack in a lot of fun and murals. We finished the Port O’Call mural. For Wes’ 25th birthday we went to Timber Trails Campground. We had a lot of fun around the campfire and at their playground/trampoline and pool. We also went to Door County and out for pizza, go-carts and mini golf. We watched Erin’s nephews, Gavin and Logan and I went to Jason Schaut’s band’s show in Green Bay. The Schauts where there and Helen. The 5 of us went to the Manitowoc Aquatic Center the next day. We went to the Frosty Tip in Dyckesville for Arthur’s Half Birthday. On July 4th we went to Rachelle’s house so that Arthur could play with the kids and we lit off fireworks. The next day we went to the Manitowoc zoo. My favorite was the turtles/tortoises and the bees. Arthur had a lemonade stand on July 5th for the Algoma Art Walk. We got a new mural job to do a paint by number for the 100th anniversary of Perry Field. Arthur helped us prime. We also got an extra job to do a mural inside the elementary school. This past week was our camping trip to Peninsula State Park. Donnie and Wes came and we swam at the beach, went out for pizza, Went across the ferry to Washington Island to see the lavender fields. We went paddle boarding on our final day. We drove home and ate at the irish pub in Sturgeon Bay. On Saturday July 13, we went to my Aunt Cathy’s 80th birthday at Kim’s house. It was very nice to see her. When we got back to Algoma, we went to Sarah Dahle’s graduation party. Today we went to the Kewaunee County fair and had fun on the rides, seeing the animals and eating food.
